Architect qualified with a wealth of design, project management, urban planning and leadership experience, Robert works with Joseph & Associates to bring complex projects to reality.

Now based in Dunedin, Robert is our key contact on the ground for the area. Robert brings over 40 years of experience from across the globe having help professional roles in New Zealand, UK, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Robert specialises in architecture, project management, urban planning and design and has a depth of experience in managing complex portfolios for education and cultural heritage properties. He also has experience in advocacy and community engagement and has worked for many years in the tourism sector.

Anton Wilke
Tourism Development Associate

Tourism industry guru Anton brings exceptional insight of the industry, strategic input and unparalleled knowledge of the accommodation, visitor attraction and regional tourism sectors within New Zealand.

With operational and marketing experience in large visitor attractions, hot pool complexes, ski fields, motel chains and ancillary tourism services, Anton brings a depth of tourism knowledge to the Joseph & Associates team.

Anton’s contribution in the fields of market research, strategy and business case development ensures our tourism based clients and partners have a realistic, practical and effective approach to feasibility.

Toni Smith
Finance Administrator

Business management extraordinaire, Toni is a master planner and solution finder. She’s also a total people person.

With an impressive list of accomplishments in business management, finance and administration, Toni provides the team with the finance frameworks, support, processes and tools they need to be productive and, at the end of the day, happy.

Toni is our resident financial admin guru. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her getting creative through landscaping (move large quantities rocks and all), or entertaining friends and family at home, even a bit of a dab hand on the BBQ (record cook: 1,000 sausages in 2 hours).

Julie Habberjam
Senior Project Manager

Julie’s aim as a marksman is testament to her drive, keen eye and absolute focus.

Julie is a qualified Prince 2® Practitioner and with an NZIM Certificate in Practical Management and has 25 years’ experience in procurement, contract management, programme and project management.  She is Joseph’s Health & Safety Officer.

Julie truly believes in work-life balance and, as a single mother, is proud that she’s been able to demonstrate over her career that you can apply flexible working hours to a high-pressure role such as project management and still achieve work-life balance. Julie is now a proud grandmother of two gorgeous wee girls and can now sit back, walk the dog and enjoy the scenery.

Brendan McGurk
Quantity Surveyor

As if having skills as both a QS and PM wasn’t enough, Brendan is also the Commissioner of American Football for Canterbury.

Brendan has a strong interest in both quantity surveying and project management.  He completed a double diploma in construction management and quantity surveying at Ara Institute of Technology (Christchurch) in 2016.

During his time studying, Brendan discovered American Football, fell in love with it and is responsible (along with some others) for starting, and growing, American Football in Canterbury.

Ian Creighton

Quantity Surveyor

Always seeking the next challenge and always with a keen sense of humour, Ian is described as studious, skilled and just a little bit cheeky.

Ian is a highly experienced and well-qualified quantity surveyor with over 10 years’ experience in the construction sector. He is skilled in measuring, estimating, pricing tender schedules, contract admin, monthly progress claims and dealing with sub-contractors, cash flow updates, variations, cost control and reporting.

Outside of work, Ian can be found hiking, fly fishing or generally escaping cell phone coverage in the great outdoors.

Jacob Webber
Quantity Surveyor

Jacob’s attention to detail, Project Management experience and Quantity Surveying ability are as impressive as his ability to do a headstand on a stand-up paddleboard.

Jacob gained his BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in the UK in 2008 before moving to NZ in 2011. Interested in sustainable, high-performance design, Jacob has a background in social housing projects and an interest in new sustainable technologies.

Outside of work you’ll find Jacob connecting with nature on the mountains, in the bush and generally infecting all with his twice positive, super friendly attitude.

Michelle Croft
Senior Administrator, Office Manager

Affectionately known as the office mum, Michelle is the team’s organisational rock star.

With a diverse career including roles as PA, finance administrator, event organiser, sales and marketing, car salesperson and resident care, Michelle is well placed as the person responsible for the day-to-day management of Joseph’s office.  During the day she helps support our team, manages IT and document management.

Out of work, you’ll find Michelle supporting her teenage children in cheerleading or soccer, heading out for dinner, sharpening her skills as a pool player.

Aditi Singh
Programme Co-ordinator

Aditi has a keen interest in photography, data integrity and marketing, keeping the team on their toes when it comes to presentation, accuracy and timeliness.

With an under-graduate BA in economics, an MBA and a Masters in Business Law, Aditi has been a key driver in an earthquake reinstatement programme since her arrival to the team in August 2016. Right now, she’s on maternity leave, enjoying spending time with her family.

David Kay
Senior Project Manager

With an early career highlight including being the site engineer in the construction of the UK’s first aqueduct in 80 years, you can guarantee David has the experience and knowledge to PM your project.

David has more than 25 years’ experience in project management in the commercial construction sector. He completed his studies and his training in the UK before moving to New Zealand.

While initially moving here for a short-term contract, 12 years later, David is a kiwi through and through – dog, kids, mountain bike and a love of the hills.

John Craig
Senior Project Manager

John’s master planning abilities are demonstrated daily with clients as he works with them from concept to completion. They’re also evident in his 8-year commitment to completely restore a 1956 Austin Healey.

John has 40-plus years’ experience in project management and architectural practices. It’s no wonder he’s seen as a master planner. He’s known for his ability to be present from concept through to completion.   He is a key member of Joseph’s team bringing a depth of knowledge in contract planning, architecture and planning.

When not exceeding client’s expectations, John may be found boating, camping, renovating his 1956 Austin Healey, fly fishing or enjoying a single-malt Scotch with friends (nothing less than a 12-year-old scotch please!)

Phil Badger
Director

Commercially savvy and financially astute, Phil brings years of business experience to the team – as well as a reasonable golf handicap.

With a grounding in the financial sector, Phil has extensive senior management experience and a broad set of commercial talents and skills. Phil is a Professional Director on a number of Boards, as well as an Investor and Chairman of New Zealand and international based organisations.  Phil also actively shares his knowledge and experience with chosen non-profit charities and fledgling start-up businesses.  Day to day Phil brings governance, organizational capability and strategic management to Josephs.

Outside of work, Phil can be found sharpening his golf and tennis skills or wondering how to find more time out on the Akaroa Harbour.

Linda Lodetti
Managing Quantity Surveyor

Linda’s depth of experience and passion for Quantity Surveying is almost as strong as her knowledge of engineered timber and her love of all things Italian.

Linda leads our team of highly experienced Quantity Surveyors. Her team say she’s quiet but deadly accurate – which is their way of praising her aptitude for knowledge, numbers and attention to detail.

Trained in South Africa, Linda holds a BSc QS Hons, and is now one of New Zealand’s leading voices in the role, benefits and use of engineered timber

In her spare time, Linda might be found using watercolours to recreate the landscapes and animals of her home country, South Africa or trying to convince her family to host another amazing Italian style dinner.

Tony Joseph
Managing Partner / Project Director

Tony is a multi-tasking professional – Dad, footballer, active community member as well as being leader of the team and Project Director at Josephs.

Tony heads the highly experienced project management team. He brings over 30 years’ experience in the construction sector. His beginnings as a qualified builder afford him a real knowledge of buildability, while subsequent role as a developer, ensure he is placed to optimise project timelines, budgets and processes.

Tony specialises in tourism and heritage project management. He’s also a dedicated Dad to four kids. He takes pride in the time he spends with his kids whether it’s as a football coach for his boys, taking his oldest to Mozambique for community work or spending time watching movies and eating popcorn with his youngest daughter on their regular daddy dates.
